Lesser Fatra National Park, located in the north-central part of Slovakia, is a rich expanse of mountains with the Kriváň and Lúčanská Fatra sub-ranges. This park covers diverse topography ranging from dense forests and alpine meadows to sharp cliffs and roaring rivers. Established in 1988, it spans an area of approximately 104,705 acres and is known for its diverse flora and fauna, including the rare lynx and brown bear. The park's history is intricately linked with Slovakian culture, reflected in its folklore and traditional architecture in nearby villages. The park features a network of hiking and biking trails, offering panoramic views of the valleys and peaks. One of the most famous landmarks is Veľký Kriváň, the highest peak in the park at 5,678 feet.
